2011 Spring Bear Hunting News

It's time to fill you in on what has been happening here at Bullseye Outfitting. To start with, we had a lot of snow in the high country this past winter. We were very lucky however, as here in the valley bottom, a lot of the moisture came in the form of rain. This was good news for our wildlife as they were able to move around to feed throughout the winter and spring.

We have been out horn hunting and Spring bear hunting through the spring and it appears the deer and elk came through the winter well. We are always paying attention to the number of bulls we see and the number's were good this spring. Also, the overall number of cow elk are very good. It is always a plus to see animals come through the winter as it effects us come fall. As of right now things look very good for our fall deer and elk seasons. We should have good success.

We had another enjoyable bear season. The hunters that were here have all hunted with us before. Everyone had opportunities at quality bear at less than a hundred yards with the exception of one. We saw lots of bears.

It always varies on the number of chocolate and cinnamon bear that we see compared to the black. This spring it was half and half. As always we saw all kinds of wildlife along with the bear. Deer, Elk, Moose, and Goats keep it interesting. This is one of the things that make this hunt special as you
will see lots of country and wildlife. If you are interested in a good bear hunt, give us a call. We have references from this spring.

You may be wondering how the big game license sale went on March 15th. It did not sell out. This means that everyone that booked a hunt received a license. We are thinking that this license will be a 100% draw again for next year. This is good news for you as if you are interested in a
deer and elk hunt, you would be able to plan a trip now.

If you have a license for this year in your possession, we do have a few openings available. Call or e-mail for dates and seasons. These are good openings and we could show you a great time.

One last thing, if you are going on a hunt this fall whether it will be with us or somebody else, take the time to practice shooting your weapon. Whether it be a bow or a rifle. If you are planning on getting a new one, buy it ahead of time to get familiar with it. Know how far it drops at certain distances. For the bow hunter, you may be shooting uphill or downhill. Practice this. For the rifle hunter, practice shooting other than off a bench. Know how to shoot your rifle. This will help you take a trophy animal home this fall. Thanks for reading.

Good Hunting,

Ben
